I never had this before today.

I went for a walk several hours following my lumbar. When I did, I had pins and needles numbness in my bottom of my left foot (the lumbar was done on the right side a bit) and my foot felt numb. It didn't last a very long time. I am guessing this is just a normal side effect following the lumbar?

How long did you lay flat after your lumbar? You should NOT have any side effects, and should have laid flat a minimum of 8 hours...otherwise, youre risking needing a blood patch.
Who told you to do any kind of physical exercise after a lumbar puncture? They should be shot for NOT telling you to do absoutely nothing for at least 24 hours and stay flat for a minimum of 8...
Are you ok today??
Try to take it easy and stay off your feet...call the ER immediately if the sensation continues or if you get a headache.

Oh yeah, I'm completely fine today

Well, as fine as one can be following something as invasive as these tests.

They had me remain in the hospital for a good 5 hours after (they did blood work etc as well) and I didn't do any strenuous activity at all. I only walked about 1 block well beyond 8 hours later, and it was when I went to put on my boots that I got that sensation. Never came back yet.

To add, I'm happy that my 'preliminary' blood came back alright. This includes the CBC and all the basic stuff. I'm more interested to see the thyroid count where I believe truly they're going to find any discrepancies, or in the vitamin deficiencies.

okay, as long as you are okay.....you kind of made it sound like you went for a walk within a few hours of having the lumbar- that scared me.
But, if you are okay- and IM glad you are....then, rest up today and feel bettter tomorrorw! Glad it went well for you.

Well, not very smart of me. I did some mild lifting/cleaning because I had potential buyers look at my house. This was Friday late night. Saturday night, I had a headache begin. Our weather was awful (big snowstorm) so I figured it was weather related. WRONG. What I was experiencing was a spinal induced migraine. Hands down, the absolute worst headache I have ever experienced. Standing, the headache went away a lot. Sitting, fierce excruciating pain like someone was stabbing my entire head with daggers, and nausea to boot. I had an IV feed with migraine drugs, laid down for several hours, and finally woke with no more headache. Thankfully. Really stupid of me. Your advice was absolutely correct. When you have a lumber/spinal, do not be vertical the day of it. I learned my lesson the hard way.
