Hi, Lisa. The only formal types of MS dxes at this point are the 4 different categories. There is some controversy about the term/concept "benign" MS -- more doctors than not say there is no such thing/dx. I'm with the majority on this one. HOWEVER, it is very possible to have a mild
disease course. I have RRMS and right now, very few sx on a daily basis. I am thankful that my sx are mild and if they still are in 20 years, the only thing I'll find myself saying (unless more is known) is that the course of my disease has been mild. I can't imagine saying I have "mild MS" -- no one can really predict anything with this beyond a shadow of a doubt. I remember in a conversation about the concept of benign MS, someone said "MS is benign - until it isn't".
I am glad you are doing so well and I hope it continues forever! It's possible.
