Such a twit..

Hi everyone...

My god what a night i had... Wed night is inject night for me. So here i am taking out my Naprosyn ( aleve) tablet out. place it on the bench, grab the water do the Avonex..hit the bed two hrs later. bla bla bla...

I find yelling out to hubby that I'm bloody freezing.. teeth are chattering. My goodness it felt like the first time i started on the meds... Horrified i felt myself cramping up because of the shakes, fever and cold..
He put extra doona covers on me. i asked for a heat pack, and literally fut it on my face. tummy and any other place i mange to move it too..
Anyway hubby massaged my legs and back till i eventually fell asleep. i woke up again around 4am and popped another Aleve.

Well Here now comes morning.. i have a needed shower after sweating all nite.
Walked into the kitchen.. My god in shock i find the tablet i took out for before my inject on the bloody BENCH..

Crap any wonder i felt awful last night.. I cant believe i took my shot without the tablet.. All i did was drink the water obviously.. I feel like such a idiot !!!!
Hmm i may laugh about it 2mrw, but gee the discomfort i felt last night was horrible... i looked like someone going through drug detox or something..
ALEVE has become my best friend when it comes to taking my meds.. I know i cant take my Avonex without it ... Oh god hell no am I'm going through that again..

Am i the only twit that's ever done this ??

Can't say I've done the same with that drug, but I've had some really 'stupid' drug/health experiences. I feel your pain! It happens, glad you're feeling better now and figured it out.

You are not a twit

You're not a twit - you're just like the rest of "we the people with ms". I'm so sorry that you suffered so ... your description was so vivid.

One of the reasons I chose Copaxone was my fear of the interferon's side effects ... but the other was my honest admission to self that a daily routine would more easily become inevitable and so perhaps less forgotten ... daily practice makes perfect. Even so, many nights after the shot I have to count what's left in the pill bottle to make sure I've also remembered and taken the daily statin for cholesterol!

When I was young, a long time ago, I thought I might finish my education with a doctorate, but now I have to take copious notes to try to hang on to the details of what I've read

I'm always at a loss when trying to remember people by name - I know people by sight, by voice, by remembered conversations, but names totally escape me, unless I have a chance to write them down. Guess that's why I prefer email to telephone conversations. Even here on the message boards, I lose track of who's who and who's where ...

Best suggestion I can give you is to laboriously make yourself a monthly matrix with separate checkboxes for each week's prep and shot. Taking the meds in the same place helps trigger the routine, too.

Wishing you an easier time and asking you to be patient with and forgiving of yourself.

Re: Such a twit..

I've always been horrible, downright horrible at remembering names lol.

Now I have to do mental exercises when I meet a new person just so I can remember their name for future. I probably run it over 50 times

Some mornings I can't remember if I've taken my thyroid medication 5 minutes after I have (or haven't!). We get it.
