| Re: Provigil
I want to bump this up. I haven't tried it, but many here have, so I'm sure you'll get some great advice. For fatigue, I was given Amantadine. It's actually an anti-viral, but it did help me. I don't take it anymore, because the effects seem to have lessened, and it makes me constipated.
I had originally asked for Provigil; my mother has had great success with it. They wanted to start me on Amantadine first, because it's cheaper; a lot of insurance companies won't pay for Provigil unless you have certain diagnoses, which generally don't include MS. I may ask for it again, or I may just continue with my horrible caffeine habit!
I have read stories here and elsewhere that Provigil gave people the jitters so badly that they quit taking it. I've also read stories in which Provigil had no ill effects, and was a life saver. In my humble opinion, I would give it a try. Being more awake and spending time with your kids will improve your quality of life. You can always quit it too if it's not working for you. Good Luck!
