MS can hide in remission for many years before re-emerging. The re-emergence is often more vicious and progressive than the original symptoms- BUT it may vary from person to person. Take the steps you did when they originally suspected MS. See a neurologist and run the gauntlet of tests you need to in order to eliminate what you do not have.
It is difficult to ascertain a diagnosis absent a professional doctor. Opinions can vary among doctors, but they are the professionals. There are criteria for them to use to determine whether or not you have MS.
I know you would like a definitive answer, but as you described, you could have a number of problems. I would not want to falsely raise your expectations nor would I want to squelch your optimism. See your doctor and in the meanwhile I will keep you in my prayers.
