Question What do I have??

For months I’ve been complaining of shortness of breath and fatigue. Now I have new symptoms to add to the pot. I have tingling on the left side of my face, and my tongue. The back of my head and neck hurts. My left arm tingles and has pain, also my legs tingle and go numb from time to time and the fatigue never ends. I have dizzy spells and my sight it fuzzy. My hands don’t seem to grip things the same and I’m constantly dropping things. I’m at the point that I don’t think anyone cares. (Really I know this isn’t the case, I’m just tried of all the negative tests). I had a MRI years ago that states that there was plaque on my brain and the possibility of MS. I prayed about this, the symptoms went away and I forgot all about it. I’ve had a new MRI and I was told that they didn’t see any plaque. (I really don’t understand that) Now I’m having the same episodes, but with avenge.
I know that there are plenty of people in worst shape that what I’m in, but I do miss feeling good. I’m a newly wed (17 months) and this just doesn’t seem fair at times.
I hurt everyday, feeling better in the morning but by noon I’m in pain and.
I’ve just had another negative test to come back, (EEG, which is for seizures) I really didn’t think I had seizures. Oh yeah, did I mention that I have headaches also. I don’t know if it’s from what’s going on, or if it’s for all the aggravation. I just need some answers.

.

Re: What do I have??

MS can hide in remission for many years before re-emerging. The re-emergence is often more vicious and progressive than the original symptoms- BUT it may vary from person to person. Take the steps you did when they originally suspected MS. See a neurologist and run the gauntlet of tests you need to in order to eliminate what you do not have.

It is difficult to ascertain a diagnosis absent a professional doctor. Opinions can vary among doctors, but they are the professionals. There are criteria for them to use to determine whether or not you have MS.

I know you would like a definitive answer, but as you described, you could have a number of problems. I would not want to falsely raise your expectations nor would I want to squelch your optimism. See your doctor and in the meanwhile I will keep you in my prayers.

Re: What do I have??

I'm due for a MRI today of my neck. I had my eyes checked out yesterday and everything looked fine, but I'm still having the pain behind my eyes. Everything is just taking a long time. I know I have to be patient...

Re: What do I have??

Your eyes can be 20/20 and still be in pain. My right eye is better than 20/20 with sunglasses, but without sunglasses I can not open my right eye (except in low light, some overcast days, and at night). In the dark my right eye sees everything, but my left eye is then the problem (it is normal!). I close my left eye at night if I have to walk somewhere- otherwise I become disoriented as each eye focuses differently. My right eye, when in pain, is relieved by acupressure and sometimes cold compresses- acupressure has been the best for me with pressure applied at or behind the area of pain.

Good luck with your MRI!!!
