lidocaine is a topical ointment used to numb the area where you inject....if it is the medicine which is stinging (im on rebif too, and know it can do that) then lidocaine wont help at all....
have you tried really icing the area for 2 minutes before doing the injection? How about massaging the injection with something to help? Ive recommended Arnica Gel to many people, it seems to help. I use it and it helps to keep the brusing/ redness down as well as help the stinging stop sooner.
The other thing I recomend, is if you arent already, leave a weeks worth of shots out for a whole week. On your last shot day, take another 3 out and start using them even while they have been out of the refrigerator for 2-7 days...they can be left at room temp up to 30 days....the warmer the medicine is, the less it burns. I actually keep mine out for the whole week, but while Im doing the 2 minute icing of the skin, I warm up the needle even further by keeping it under my armpit! It works...hope this helps?
