You need to consult with your doctor. With MS, there is no "one test" to determine a diagnosis. Your doctor will have to put all the evidence together, rule out what you do not have, and render his diagnosis thereafter. A normal VEP can just mean that there are no lesions affecting your optic nerve or associated nerves or it could mean???
I would only ask to have a determination made prior to your appointment. There is nothing you can do without a diagnosis, BUT (another BUT for emphasis), you can take some time off to shed stress from your life, re-evaluate your priorities, determine if you need to make any life style or household accommodation changes, and enjoy life. If you get your life in order, if the diagnosis is MS, then you will be sitting pretty.
My mistake when I was diagnosed in the caveman days of 1982 was to let the stress get to me. My neuro admonished me. He said that if I did not get rid of the stress, I would not live long. Stress can adversely affect your life physiologically as well as spiritually. My life really shined after I threw off the shackles of stress and worry. I have never looked back and those shackles have long since rusted away.
Take one day at a time and you will get through this. Stay in touch here online as well as finding a core support network. The MS Society is nicely organized there in the UK and you will find much freedom within a support network that can empathize with your situation. I will keep you in my prayers.
