Fingernails on the chalkboard sensation as MS symptom? - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

I posted for the first time the other day, and had forgotten one of my "symptoms". I have yet to be dx'd, but am going for a contrast MRI of the brain and cervical spine on Friday.

Has anyone ever had the sensation of "fingernails on the chalkboard" with regard to either touching your skin or paper, etc.? I have had this feeling on an off for a few years now, and was wondering if anyone else experiences this as a symptom of MS.

Yes. I have a very sensitive touch. Sometimes it can be skin, other times paper, and plastic. I first got the shock of it when opening a galvanized gate.

Wow! I never thought this could be an MS symptom! There are certain types of fabrics that give me that sensation. I've had times where my clothes hurt, but this is different. I'm glad I"m not the only one!

For a couple of days last month my clothes hurt my legs, like a constantly touching a bruise that's not there.

I would add that I have worn gloves which have helped me.
