I am really have an awful day. Yesterday I noticed an increase in the tingling sensation. Today rather than being annoying it is very uncomfortable, to the point of painful. My doctor told me I could take the Lyrica for nerve pain. Is this what she means. I have had sciatic type pain before but never this feeling to this extent. It is not just in one place either. I do have a call into the neuro, but they will probably just have me come in. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Nerve pain which is MS related is not notable for responding to pain meds. My learning experience was in the area of my sciatica. For me the pain went through my left "cheek" and down through my left thigh. The only treatment that has worked 100% of the time for me has been the heating pad.

I hope you get through your pain soon!!

I have read recently on Disaboom that Lyrica is starting to be used for MS pain and my doctor has recently upped my Lyrica dosage and it does seem to work for the nighttime leg pain that I get but not for daytime and the pain I get just walking around. I can't do the heat myself it makes it worse. Give me cold anytime lol. Although I have not been DX yet I am still waiting for another MRI. I have recenly started getting floaters and my facial numbing is driving me batty.

I have tried Lyrica, neurontin , Cymbalta and a host of other so called Nerve Pain drugs...nothing has helped at any dosage. I fall asleep and forget the pain when on these drugs, but wake up in more pain then ever.. I gave up. I live with it, believe it or not, you get used to it and REALLY apprecaite the good days!

I am a limbolander, but have Rsd/Crps which is rated the highest pain that can be felt on the McGill Pain Scale. Lyrica has been one of my lifesavers. You need A Lot of medication and nerve blocks etc etc to stop and/or slow down this pain disease. I have written this a few times that there is a higher incidence of Rsd found in people with MS. Study done by Dr Schwartzman.
Anyway, Lyrica helped to stop the zapping, zinging, burning, zapping crap that is just terrible to live with. Nerve pain is BRUTAL. Trust me. Give it a try.
