Question How to tell differance between early stages of MS, ALS or Mercury poisoning?

Hi everyone. Hope you can help. This all started 7 months ago.
Started out, I had two partial seizures, one in my rt arm, the other in my rt leg. They were 10 minutes apart. During them I had mental confusion. I was driving my car when it happened. I was over taken by a weird "feeling". I got the car stopped and quick too.Just after the first seizure, I didn't know where I was, how to drive a car or anything. I got myself together, got home.
Then I started getting muscle spasms or twitches in my rt arm and hand. Thank goodness, I'm left handed. Then after a week, in my rt foot. Then by the close of that week, everywhere. Soon after the cramps started. They started as just painful muscle cramps but now they have turn excrusiating. The twitching has progressed badly too. More like my hand is contracting or constricting. Doc's did some tests, EEG=normal, MRI of brain w/ and w/o contrast= not too good. Showed that I have a strange degeneration of the lower rt quadrant of my brain. Doc is stumped, I loose my insurance now. Now I'm going through the State health dept. They did put me on Baclofin 10mg, 3 times a day.
I have had terrible kidney problems, newly found 10mm stone.
Please answer me back with anything that could help. Thanks all.

You need to be seeing a neurologist. What you describe does not sound like MS to me. Also, what do you mean by having two partial seizures (one in your arm and one in your leg)? A seizure happens in your brain, not your arm or leg, so I'm a little confused by this.
How old are you? Male? Female? The reason I ask is because if you're 70, it's highly unlikely that you are having the early symptoms of MS, and if you're 17, it's unlikely you are having early symptoms of ALS. Why would you think you could have mercury poisoning?

Hi Sue. Thanks for the reply. First, I'm a 38 yr old male. The "partial seizures" that I described were a sudden eruption of very violent uncontrolable fast paced shaking. They each went away after about 2 minutes, and were 10 minutes apart. What "they" actually were or what they are called, I don't know. My Doctor did get tests done on me before I lost my insurance, specifically a EEG (which came out normal) and a MRI of my brain with and without contrast. The MRI did not come out so good. doc said no lesions or tumors were found, but I had a very strange deterioration of my lower right side of my brain. He did not know what it was from, nor had he ever seen anything like it before.
I had been refered to see a neurologist but no pay/ no play. I've been going to the State Health Dept since. They say that they don't have the funding to let me see a neurologist. Stuck in the middle on this one, huh?!Poverty sucks!
The reason that we are looking at maybe mercury (yes,I said we), lets just say last August, we had an encounter and conversation with "a very unsavory character", and moments after he left we noticed that we all (3 of us)had "silver paint" on the inside of our rt hands. We were busy about trying to figure out what had wet paint on it. Nothing was ever found that did. We forgot about that until about 8 weeks ago. We have all 3 been very ill in the last several months. I don't know if that is it, but I'd put my bet on it.I haven't been diagnosed with anything, yet.
I've been told of a heavy metal urine test. Will this still show exposure even from 7-8 months ago? I also know of a hair test, but I believe that the health dept will go for the urine test first; it's cheaper. Anyways, if anyone one knows of anything that can help or someone that could help or any ideas, I'd be very thankful. Anyone else with simular encounter or symptoms?
Thank you all,
Godspeed from Floorman Cape Canaveral, Fl.

Well, it sure doesn't sound like MS, so that's a good thing.

I think if I were you, I'd go to the emergency room of a pubic hosptial the next time you have any type of similar event. Then you may be able to hope that you'll be admitted and have a thorough neurological workup.

Why don't you try doing a search on metal/chemical exposure and the side effects and see what you can come up with?
Good Luck,
Sue
