Lumbar Puncture really needed to get diagnosed?Need quick answer.
Hi,
In a nutshell, I have had tingling in my hands and feet for over 6 years now. Had many tests done. 6 mri's. First one showed lesions on brain, but with each newer one done, the lesions were dissapearing . Latest mri, of the brain showed lesions almost gone but also had first spinal mri done at that time and it showed a
calcification on dorsal column (C-3) Who knows, maybe that was there all along ....since no on bothered to look at the spine.
My evoked potentials came back---there is a "mild delay" in both legs but visual is fine and median nerve ok.
Blood work is fine, my main symtoms are the tingling getting stronger. Other than an occasional bladder infection, I feel ok.
So the neurologist thinks I should have a spinal tap. The last one I had 5 years ago was normal. And I feel its too invasive, as I had Very bad headaches lst time. So after reading many articles on MS, I question if this will really tell me anything conclusive. Or if I even have it.
Thanks for your opinions...
