I've been diagnosed with a barrel of things over the past 10 years after a car accident. Including FMS, MPS, Hashimoto's, hypothyroidism etc. Back in February I noticed my hardened muscles were getting even weaker, more spasms, tremors and something new, electrical shocks in my arms and legs. First, I went to my PCP whom sent me to a Rheumatologist, who found arthritis in my knees and back. The Rheumy sent me to a FMS doctor, who did an EMG and found nerve damage in my leg. The he sent me for a lower lumbar MRI to check for nerve compression from 2 herniated disks and he found no nerve root compression but degenerating disks. The FMS doctor in turn sent me to a neurologist to find out what was causing the nerve damage in my leg. The neurologist sent me for some bloodwork and a brain MRI with and without contrast. The MRI was negative but the bloodwork showed low levels of B-12 and folic acid (197, norm is <200-1100> nutritionist say 400 is normal) with no absorption problem, so she put me on B-12 and folic acid and said the shocking (myelin stripping of the nerve) would stop in a week and I would feel great. It's been since June 18th and the shocking is worse. I went back to the FMS doctor and told him about what's been going on and he wants to do another EMG on my arms. My question is, isn't nerve stripping part of MS? Even with the negative MRI in the lower lumbar and brain, couldn't there still be MS on the spinal column? Wouldn't that account for the continuing nerve stripping? HELP
