copaxone

my wife has secondary progressive MS.she had success with 4 yrs of copaxone but discontinued it. shortly after she had a very bad flare that put her in a w/c. now she can't even feed herself. she is incontinent as well. a new neuro has prescribed copaxone.
my question is would it be worth using copaxone again or is it a moot issue? are there any cases where it actually helps a person who is secondary progressive?

Re: copaxone

Statistics say that Copaxone is the only drug available for secondary progressive Bob. Considering where going off it got her, you really have nothing to lose by trying it again...might prevent further progression, which is the name of the game.

What happened with the Homeopath? Did you go? Did he suggest anything else??
Hope she starts feeling better soon..
Nikki

Re: copaxone

i wish her luck with the homeopath- keep us updated..

As for stopping the copaxone. I cant imagine any Neuro would tell her to stop doing so- especially if she was doing well. That seems to go against everything Copaxone is about. Im sick of sticking myself with Rebif needles- but no one could convince me NOT to do it any longer- Im doing well and I believe that it is because of the Rebif...

Bob, so sorry to hear she is doing badly. Maybe, if she starts again, some of it will reverse. I know I had alot of good things happen once I started Rebif. There is hope....
