I am wondering if anyone knows much about MRI'S?....I wondered if you have MS or something like that will they see it even they are looking for something else?..or not really looking for it?
Also I wonder if any one else has ever had after effects after an MRI?
When I had mine my eyes had already been bothering me and after the MRI - I felt very weak and had a hard time walking along with double vision..
Has anyone had anything like this happen?..Should I be concerned of this?..
You have to factor several possibilities. For me, after lying "in the tube", I have felt unbalanced (and not just mentally ). If the symptoms you are experiencing are persisting for a period of 24 hours or more, your doctor should be told. If your doctor is not looking for lesions, then they could be overlooked, or not. It depends on your doctor's experience.
Are you being seen by a MS Specialist?

I don't thinks my neuro is an MS specialists....Its taken me over 3 years just to get a neur and an MRI..because of medical insurance I have....so I don't know....I go for MRI results the 25th so I guess wait and see and go from there...
Thanks,
Dorothy, did they do contrast while you had your MRI? thats the stuff they would have injected into your vein, during the test...
If they DID use contrast, it could make you dizzy or nauseaus. Sometimes, I have that reaction. If they didnt use it, then there is no real reason why a MRI would make you feel the way you describe. However, anything is possible and you really should call your doctor if this doesnt go away in a day or two.
Also, you had a brain/ spine MRI? If so- they did check for MS....and even if they were checking for migrane headaches- lesions WILL appear even if they werent specifically looking for MS. Any decent Neurologist will pick up on "something" being wrong....and worst case scenario, he will send you with your films to another doctor to have them re-read. Try NOT to worry. Anxiety can do alot of bad things to you, including making you feel the way that you describe...and although understandable- waiting for these test results makes us all anxious- it wont help you. Try really hard to wait it out until you see your doctor....and keep us posted!

Nikki-
Hey how are you?...
Yes they did use the contrast so maybe thats why I felt that way afterwards...
they did a head scan so I would think they top part of spine would show up in the films?...They were checking for my migraines and about my eyes and stuff so hopefully they will figure out what is wrong there...
I will let ya know...
I hope you are doing good this week.
another long week, but Im okay. Thanks for asking....contrast can make you feel yucky for a day or two.....but you should report it to your doctor, and if it doesnt go away by Monday- call him.
If they were checking for Migranes, yes, theyll show up on a head MRI; however when you are there, ask about C Spine...thats the top of the neck. See if they did that as well and ask if it should be done...
then we will talk more!
Hang in there..
