what should my doctor do now he's been told i have eye inflammation. - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

first I would like to thank Jay Tor for sending me the website on optic neuritis,I have been told by an opthalmic optician I have inflammation of the eye,she is going to write a letter to my doctor,which he should receive early next week.what I would like to know is (not been diagnosed with ms)what should I expect from my doctor, a referral to a neurologist?any medication?.I dont have a lot of faith in my doctor and i'm really scared about losing my eyesight.

You should probably be referred to a neurologist and given an mri. They can give you steroids which will restore vision quicker but it WILL come back naturally in most cases (I had no medication.)
