You could certainly ask for the blood test. But more specifically, what do you mean that your symtoms seem to be progressing? You realize that Avonex isnt supposed to do much for symtoms, however it should be preventing new lesions, thus reducing flareups and the symtoms which accompany them.
When was the last time you had a MRi and did it show anything new? What is your doctor saying? Many people have switched from Avonex to Rebif when they start to feel like you describe, because it is a 3 time a week injection of the same drug, its stronger, and you keep a higher blood level of the drug in your system. You might want to talk to your Neuro about it.
Let us know what your doc says on the subject. Id be curious to hear....Having been on Rebif for 4 years now, my doctor just spoke to me about having the blood work done in March for neutralizing antibodies, just to see if anything shows...
