If you are just starting on Copaxone it would not be unheard of to have swollen lymph nodes. This indicates an immune response. It is my understanding that the method that Copaxone implements is to get your body used to a certain type of what it sees as a foreign intruder. When you have an MS attack your T Cells are flagging friendly things as needing to be destroyed, which are then targetted by your immune system. Copaxone to the best of my knowledge acts as that foreign intruder not so much to act as a diversion, but rather to get your immune system used to a certain type of matter. This will then cause your immune system to see the T Cells as the boy who cried wolf so to speak... and not respond to each and every flare up initialted by those T Cells.
When you first start taking Copaxone, you will have an immune reaction as your immune system reacts to the 'invader'. This would cause your lymph nodes to swell. As your treatment continues, the immune system will go back to working on normal tasks, and will disregard the Copaxone, as well as hopefully T Cell flags on good tissues.
Also, a note on T Cells. The reason that this sort of treatment is not all that risky as far as desensitizing your immune system, is because your immune system can function very effectively even without the help of T cells.
We will see this put into practice in the hear future as Antegren hits the market in maybe a year. Antegren will essentially plug the doorways in the blood vessels that allow the T Cells to penetrate the blood vessel walls and flag good tissues for destruction. The T Cells will remain trapped in the blood where they will not cause any harm, yet the immune system as a whole will continue to function quite effectively with all of the other tools it has in it's belt.
