Hi Harley,
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 10 years ago. My first symptoms led my doctor to believe that I had MS. I had all the MRI's, CAT scans and so many other tests I couldn't count them and they came back negative for MS too. But my symptoms, especially the numbness, tingling, etc. in my entire right side, headaches, loss of balance, weakness, pretty much everything seemed to me to point to MS too. I have a high school friend that has MS and even she was convinced that I had it. I have the "electric shock" that goddess mentioned too, it is an awful feeling, like your body is actually having some kind of a power surge or something. My doctor has actually treated me with some medications that are also used for patients with Parkinson's, the med is Mirapex, it helped a lot with the restless legs I suffered from at night that caused me to be unable to sleep. However, I built up a tolerance for that drug and have just recently been switched to neurotin, it is helping a lot. I take a lot of other medication too, currently I'm taking Celebrex and Flexeril for pain and muscle spasms.
I hope you can find something that will help you. And, if you don't feel that your doctor is helping you, I'd suggest you change doctors. Good Luck. |
