ms hugs

I just want to touch base, I am not dx with MS yet. Still going through testing and whatever. One thing that threw me for a loop is that I have been for years suffering with esophageal spasms which feel like somethig is grabbing your inside under where your rib cage starts. I used to suffer with intense pain until I was prescribed hyoscyamine which is like nitro glycerin. I put a pill under my tongue and let it dissolve and it cuts the spasm to almost nothing. And now since I am going through possible MS diagnosis, I am not wondering if these spasms I have been having for years could be classified as an MS hug. For some reason I am getting them quite often when previously it was like once a year.

Re: ms hugs

MS Hugs can come and go and can run through cycles. If you have MS or have had it for some time, your earlier experiences could well have been MS Hugs. For me the issue of swallowing and the MS Hug are separate problems.
MS diagnosed since October 3, 1982
MS onset circa 1977
