Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

There are long term effects of prednisolone which can present with different symptoms and can lead to a variety of medical conditions.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

All of this is so confusing. My gp is my only support as I don't want to worry my famiy yet my husband knows but I think he's pretending nothig is wrong cause he can't see what I feel. Specially the trembling. Tight feelig around tummy and even though I stretch my seem like they pull back. I don't know if I can deal with all of this. I'm not used to not being incontrol and I have none with whatever is going on inside. I try so hard not to let it get to me but as I said I just get confused and I don't know what to do. I'm not good at speaking up. I feel lost.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

You seem to do well here at speaking. I would print that which you have written here and use it when you see the doctors. I think that the MS organization in Australia could be a great place to get some help. Your GP is certainly trying to help, but I do think you need to see a specialist to determine what is really going on inside you.

Trembling can be from a variety of causes from blood pressure to blood sugar or from exhaustion. If you have MS, your MS Hug can be the cause of the tightness you feel. When my MS Hug is really strong, stretching does nothing. You might try a cold compress or a tepid shower to see if this alleviates the tightness.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

Its not face to face. I can talk with my gp. He's lovely. But I get to rheumi and I only mention what's happening now. I forget the swollowing problems. I'm on nexium everyday r my food feels like it goes down in lumps. Liquid is the same. Rheumi sent me to neuro weho's bed side manner was rude. Nerve conduction test very intense. Anyway got no result from him he's sending the back to rheumi but I have mri for lumbar spine and legs only before I go back to him. Not till nest month. I have written down stuff for rheumi so I don't forget.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

I think it is good that you have written it down.

For swallowing issues, I have had to cut some foods out of my diet because they caused trouble. I started drinking plenty of ice cold water throughout the day which has helped alleviate many of my swallowing problems.

I think that if you look at the MS organization in Australia's website you might find other neuro's who might be better for you to see. Your Rheumi is limited by their own specialty, but I know some excellent ones who have referred patients to MS Specialists. Sometimes a doctor may try to heal you as best they can and a referral means failure to some. It sounds like you have some doctors who truly car about you.

I am still keeping you in my prayers because that is often all we have to rely upon!

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

Had cameras done. Found nothing have had a stretch in throat to help as it got real bad at one stage. I have had test etc bu they come back normal most of the time. After back injury in 2009 went down hill fast got glandular fever six weeks after injury. Nothing has been been right since. Suffered from endometriosis for years. But had tthat sorted. Then when back went pain was similar fingers crossed my rheum is nice. Only seen him once and he was really nice. What about mouth?? I have dentures down but sometimes my gums get sore. They feel raw. Tongue the same. Horrible tast in mouth like I've been drinking water from metal cup. Omg where do I stop. Sorry don't mean to get on her and complain. I think I needed to vent to people who understand xx

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

Your accident caused severe trauma to your body and your body's reaction is not abnormal.

Our body is not equally strong throughout. Our internal components, when subjected to severe stress such as your accident, generally suffer a cascade effect from the stress. our weakest internal components can shut down or become impaired. As our body recovers, these weak components can recover too, but they are subject to damage when the next stress hits.

the metal taste in your mouth can be from the prednisolone. In time it will go away. If you have had your dentures awhile, you may need a new set because your gums and jaw will change as you age. My mom went through 3 sets in 15 years. You might also see the possibility of dental implants or dental anchors for dentures.

You certainly have a plate full, but not to worry, when you need to vent, you are welcome here!!

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

Hi me again!! Went back for blood test results, I truley give up. He said not much has changed a few things there but he said he wanted more test done. This time for glandular fever. I had this in 2009/10. I have asked abou this in the past but was told u couldn't get it again. Does this have anything to do with ms? I feel like he's not telling me everything, so I don't stress. Stay on the prednisolone, pressure in head has eased but vein on left side of head is still up.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

High fevers can cause lesions. I do not know about glandular fever. If you have MS, any kind of stress on your body could cause MS symptoms to present.

Re: not diagnosed yet !!!

The blood pressure being raised can be a reaction to your meds. My neighbor takes meds and she was on bed rest to lower her BP. Have you tried a caffeine drink to combat your headache/migraines?
