Re: L-lysine and ms

 Welcome. L-lysine can help with stress management. If stress is a major factor in your MS symptoms presenting or worsening, then you might benefit from it. You can, however, save your money and learn to manage your stress through different techniques or lifestyle adjustments.

There are some studies ongoing working with amino acids, but it is still far far from answers.

Re: L-lysine and ms

L-Lysine is used primarily to prevent viral infections which can be caused by lower immune systems. Patients who take things like Valtrex or use Acycolvir usually do well with L Lysine supplements. Its not going to treat or help MS; however it may help with prevention of stress related incidences.

I have taken L lysine for more than 5 years , 500 mgs a day- to prevent cold sores, which I often get under stress. As stressful as my life is- I have not had a cold sore in more than 5 years...it seems to help.
