I have now been on Rebif for just over 5 months and was taking Tylenol before each injection to reduce the side effects. I have switched to Advil as the Tylenol was upsetting my liver.
I am now having more chills after taking the Rebif and they are severe.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what to take as I don't think the Advil is helping, but can't take the Tylenol? Do these chills eventually subside?
I will defer to someone with Rebif experience, but flu like symptoms are a side effect of Rebif which will subside. Have you called the help line for Rebif or have you spoken with your prescribing doctor?

I should be speaking with the Rebif representative shortly and will bring these new side effects to her attention, as well as my neurologist.
Hi, as a former Rebif user, I can assure you that iburprofin will do nothing for Rebif chills/ sweats. Try Aleve. It seems to work the best. Take one 12 hour tablet 1/2 hour before the injection, and it is safe to take another one 4 hours later, if you need to. Because it lasts so long, I never needed to take more than one tablet. IT really worked for me.
Its not unusual for you to get these side effects at this point. Youve been on it for 5 months, but this is really only the 3rd that you have taken it at full dosage. The first two months were titrated.....at this point in time, your body is becomming adjusted to having the interferon in your system...hang tough! You are problably only 4-6 weeks away from the side effects stopping completely.
