I posted here a few months ago about my concerns about possibly having MS. I am going to my neurologist regularly. In the process of narrowing things down and having a couple more MRI's on my brain and cervical spine they didn't see any additional leisons on my brain. The ones that were already there seemed to be stable. However they showed a lesion on my thyroid. In the process of getting that done, they found a blood clot in my jugular, it traveled from right above my collar bone and went up to just below my jaw. So now they are concerned about this clot. They have me on blood thinners. They did another MRI of my brain, this time focusing on the veins in my ead. The dr. indicated there were a few leisons right near the brain stem that hadn't been seen before. This brought the possibility of MS back into the picture. At this point,I am highly frustrated with everything that has happened and frankly just a little nervous. I mean, i have to go to an endocrinologist about the 10 different nodules on my thyroid (there is a chance they could be cancer). I still have a clot in my jugular that doesn't seem to be getting any smaller. That means I may get to make a visit to the hemotologist as well. And all this is happening because I went to a neurologist for migraines. sigh...

Hi there. Im really sorry to hear of your worries. Thats got to be very concerning to you.
Lesions, on the brain, when they are MS, show up very significantly MS like in shape, placement and size. A good neurologist should be able to differentiate between lesions from migranes, and MS lesions. Its also possible that the migranes you had previously have left additional scars...
As for the thyroid, it may be causing you many of the same MS like symptoms.
Unfortunately, you wont know until you see the right doctors to get things eliminated. Im sorry you have thyroid problems, we do have a thyroid board here on healthboards where you might share that story and get some feedback- but in the meantime, let us know what the neuro says!
Prayers are with you..

Sorry to learn of your problems. While it seems you are headed towards MS, I would prioritize your health with regards to your thyroid and blood clot before you worry about the possibility of MS. You are quite lucky in that if it were not for the migraines, you might have dismissed everything until it all became dangerous to your health.
Take the opportunity you have been blessed with to get your major issues out of the way. Stick with the specialists for your probable MS, your blood clot, and your thyroid. You might find that some of your problems are directly related to your thyroid, but that is not a guarantee.
Take courage. You are doing the right things and I am lifting you up in prayer. In the meanwhile, I would encourage you to check the board on this site regarding your thyroid specifically because you might find answers therein.
