Whats wrong with my leg muscles? - Muscular Dystrophy Message Board

I have this odd thing that occurs every 1-2 months. In the middle of the night (this happens ONLY when im sleeping) i catch this EXCRUCIATINGLY painful cramp in my right leg, so bad that i wake up and start rolling around in bed. And it comes back 3-4 more times over the next 5 minutes, and its just an insanely painful feeling, i cant do anything about it, i sit up, roll around, everything, its just horrible.

Then always after i have one of those attacks, i have a sharp pain in my leg when im walking. So i have a limp over 2-3 days. At night the pain occurs in the calf of my right leg, but then during the following days my calf hurts and the muscles on the upper soles of my feet.

Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be?

THe same exact thing happens to me, actually i am back at a neuro for that same thing, every month or so, and it's always between 2-3am, i wake up with this horrible cramp and it's more than a cramp, i can't walk, it's almost like my leg sticks in this position of the cramp, i've researched and it's called a muscle contracture and i'm getting muscle tests at neuro tomorrow, it's maddening, and it hurts then it's sore for a few days.........and it's only in the middle of the night when i'm sleeping. so incredibly painful. let me know what you find out and i will too.
