I have just ordered a flu shot, but I was wondering if any of you guys also get a pneumonia shot? Last year was the first time I ever got a flu shot, and since I work with kids I think it may be a good idea for me to cover my bases as much as possible.
I have always prided myself of an incredibly strong immune system, but last fall I had a cold with a bad cough. It kind of scared both my husband and me, but my parents were visiting at the time so we downplayed it. STUPID, thankfully it did not turn into anything worse than the cough (which was bad enough), but I am not taking that chance again. My husband got the cold from me and did end up with a bad case of pneumonia!
I get the Flu shot every year and I believe it really helps. I've never had the pneumonia shot but I guess I should. I had pneumonia many years ago and I was flat on my back for almost a week. I think it would just about do me in now with the MD. Thanks for the input! I'll ask my doctor about it.
