living alone

Hi, I have Myotonic Dystrophy 2. At this point, I have limited problems. My basic problems is climbing stairs especially without railings. Luckily I live in a condo on the bottom floor, no stairs. I am fatigued. I did fall recently but don't think it was due to the MD. The kitchen floor was wet and with bare feet I slipped. I fractured my pelvis and yes, I fell and couldn't get up. I got to my front door, called out and someone came to my rescue. I was than able to call my daugher who lives 2 miles away and she ended up calling 911.
Obviously, I suspect I know what everyone will tell me, I need life alert. I am only 67 and honestly cannot get myself to do it. In most rooms, my phone is reachable. Yes, I do have a cell but don't have a good way to carry it around. What do others living alone do.

Marlene
