Hello. Not sure I am in the right forum but will try to ask a question here.
I had a "severe" whiplash 7 years ago and since then I always feel pain in the neck ----tightness of muscles feel on one side -----and cannot sleep at night(sleep about 1-2 hours a night)/ I cannot rest my neck on the pillow on all sides----a nightmare -7 years like that and the suffering never ends.
Is it a muscular dystrophy? Since my doctor has never heard about people who cannot rest their neck on the pillow (to fall asleep of course)then I thought I would ask here?.
It's a tighness of the neck in one spot most of the time.
and if what I have is not muscular dystrophy, then what is muscular dystrophy? at this stage of my life, living and suffering non stop 24 hours a day from pain I would take any other illnesses than this pain that makes me -so sad. WOULDN'T YOU????
Hope to hear from you,
Appreciate.
I'm not an expert (I have LGMD) but all the years I've had MD I didn't and do not experience neck stiffness or pain.
There could be nerve damage. A friend of mine had a car accident some time ago and also had severe Whiplash becasue of this. After some time seing differend dr's the diagnoses was nerve damage.
it is very painful to have muscle pain in the neck. I think it it due to the several reasons. one may be the one due to the unhealthy exercise for bodybuilders.
I kind of know what you mean by painful. If I go sleep and turn into the wrong position (not easy to turn at all) I wake up with severe neck muscle pain. That only lasts for about 2 days
I assume bodybuilders overuse their muscles now or then (I could be wrong) and experience extreme whiplash could resort to damaged muscles I suppose
I hope in this case it is damaged muscles (sounds terrible I know) and not MD because living with MD takes a bit of your life away and maybe your neck problem will only be that and nothing else
I sincerely hope you get someone to help you and the next time you on the board it will be with positive news
