If you are taking a cholesterol lowering drug, you need to have the CPK enzyme test to determin if you have muscle inflammation or muscle damage as a result of the med. My husband has been taking "Zocor" and now has a problem with his right leg as a result. He took Zocor for 1 year, had right arm hurt, whent off Zocor for a while, went back on, arm hurt, went off again and then his leg started hurting and weak.
The statin drugs have serious side effects.
