| Re: Nail biting/growing problem
don't feel bad. I bit mine for many many years. So bad they would bleed and even buttoning a shirt was painful. I don't remember how I quit, but one way was to keep them polished. I would pick a color I liked and keep that on. Of course, I would chew the color (not eat it) but atleast it wasn't the nail. I too will bite them if one breaks especially if I don't have a file. I can go a year without biting, but the minute one tears there I go. In a strange way, it is like indulging in my bad habit without actually going back to it. we can't explain it. I sucked my thumb until I was 21! I have a lot of nervous habits, biting my nails, the thumb thing, I smoked, I will pick at zits (though not often). If life is good, I do them less. I often bit my nails off when I was getting ready to break up with a guy! Go figure! Anyhoo, try the polish thing, and try to remember how nice they will look! I don't bite them now-they are strong and very nice looking. Now, if I could just stop picking and chewing at my cuticles!!!! Oh, I have general anxiety, maybe try Zoloft or something??? Ask your doc if you think so, and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
