The "cloudy White" you see at teh cuticle is the color of the lunula (matrix) where the new cells are born - this is perfectly normal. It can take a toenail at least a year to replace itself fully from the cuticle to the free edge. As the new nail plate emerges, it will force the lifted portion to move out over the free edge. The damaged portion will grow forward and be replaced with good healthy nail. 7 weeks is not enough time to see dramatic results.
As for the funny, circular look to the new nail: the cells that are touching the damaged portion can end up looking 'funny' in comparision to the good cells that are behind it. Just give it time - it will all look fine in the end.
