Certainly!
1. If your mix ratio was wetter than the consistency of mayonnaise, it was too wet and couldn't properly create a bond with the nail plate.
2. If you failed to completely remove all traces of translucent skin from the nail plate all around the cuticle and sidewalls. the skin would prevent proper adhesion.
3.. If you allowed the product to touch the skin, it will pull oils and moisture from the skin back into the nail plate, which will also cause lifting.
Check your preparation steps and be sure your mix ratio is correct. It should spread across your nail just like you were spreading mayonnaise on bread. It should stay where you put it without 'melting' down until you touch it with your brush to flatten it and spread it from side to side.
