| Re: in grown toenails OUCH
When I get an ingrown toenail, I soak a teensy piece of a cotton ball (no more than the size of a bb) in Anbesol (numbing agent) and I gently tuck it under the area where the toenail is poking into my toe. I do this after a shower so the nail is soft and it's easy to get the cotton underneath. I leave it there for a couple of days and voila . . . the nail grows past the spot and the pain is gone. Usually the cotton falls off in the shower because the nail has grown. If the toe hurts, you can apply more Anbesol to the area. My mother taught me this about 30 years ago and it never fails.
