You need to release the pressure from the build-up of blood between the nail plate and the nail bed. If you aren't queezy, you can do this yourself with a very small drill bit. Sanitize the drill bit with a mixture of 10 parts water to 1 part clorox, rinse and dry. Hold the bit between you rfingers and roll it back and forth until you have a hole in the nail plate and you can see blood coming out of the hole. If you are queezy, you can go to your physician and have them do this.
