dented thunb nail
i have recently noticed the nail on my right thumb has grown dented. what causes this and what can be done to correct it.

If you bumped the nail matrix, even the slightest bump, it can cause an indentation in the emerging nail plate. If it was caused by trauma, the dent will gorw out with the nail palte until it reaches the free edge and is filed off the length.

I had that too, and also on my right thumb! it went away after a few years. Not sure how I got it either, maybe banged it up and at the time didn't notice what happened, not sure if it grew out or disappeared!
