It simply means that you havne't ever had a real manicure. True cutilce is actually the translucent skin that grows forward on the nail plate from between the nail plate and the proximal nail fold. If you have skin around your nail plate that is thick, it is actually the epony****m. These are two entirely different things. If the epony****m is thick, you can try using a 'cuticle' remover to help eliminate the excess skin. This is simply skin that hasn't sloughed off properly. A professional manicure would help a lot!
