Hi, Marti. Do you have any recommendations for nail 'strengtheners?' I know we don't want 'strong' nails, but tough ones, right? Strong = easily breaking, correct? What do you think of Orly products? What about CND's Toughen Up? I want to stay far away from formaldehyde and tosolumide (or whatever it is). I use CND's Solar Oil DAILY for cuticles (at least twice a day-AM and PM. Sometimes more often), but I would like a polish for shine and growth/health.
Any suggestions you have to toughen up a nail so they grow healthy would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you have any suggestions on what polishes NOT to use?
Well, I tried the Toughen Up for a few days, but didn't like it. It rubbed off. ?? It didn't seem like a normal polish. It it like CND's Sticky? That one is to be used immediately under a polish. I wonder if Toughen Up is the same.
So, now my question to you is this: what do you think of Nutra Nails products? Specifically their Green Tea Growth Treatment and their Maximum Growth Biotin Formula? That one got my interest, as it has biotin in it.
While it does say you'll get 'stronger' nails in five days (sure...), it also says "resilient nails that bounce back with strength instead of breaking." Just what one wants, right?
I probably got suckered into buying it after what I read. This is something you massage onto the nail/cuticle. I have no idea if whatever is in it will actually penetrate the nail like Solar Oil. But, oh well. I still want to get your opinion on that Maximum Growth Biotin Formula thing.
Toughen Up needs to be applied in very thin layers; allowing each layer sufficient time to copletely dry. If you apply it otherwise, it will remain sticky and rub off.
I thought that's what I did. I put on one coat a day for a few days. Maybe I didn't. I can't remember. But, note taken.
What about the Nutra Nail stuff?
Thanks.
