ingrown toenails - Nail Problems Message Board

Boths my big toenails are ingrown badly.OK they do look like the number 6 and form a claw. Next week my Doc is removing them.I am scared .
What should I do after the removel ???? Should I have them done boths in the same day or one by one??????

Do them both, you will be so happy afterwards. You will have to change the dressings everyday and keep them clean. Your doc will tell you what to do. I had both of mine done the same time and afterwards I went shopping. Best thing I ever did was to get them taken care of. It was not painful at all, they numb the area so you won't have any pain.

I beg to differ........I had one big toenail removed 7 weeks ago. It killed me for 4 weeks, mostly b/c of the nerves healing I guess. Anyway, the pain is finally gone and i'm just waiting for the darn thing to grow back in. I'm not trying to scare you out of it, but I wanted to share my experience. Good luck! Oh, and I would like to say that I do agree that you shouldn't feel anything during the surgery. Everything should be good and numb!
