Terbinafine questions - Nail Problems Message Board

Hi. Just started Terbinafine, which is the generic for Lamisil. Very cool they just came out with it...much cheaper. Anyway, wanted to know if I should continue the topical treatments such as vinegar while on the medication. AND, should I stay away from polish? I want it to work this time so I'll do literally anything. Thanks!

Lamasil was just deregulated, which is why there are now generic medications. It couldn't hurt to continue the vinegar if it makes you feel better. The vinegar will help to keep the exposed nail bed clean.

Marti what is the difference between the lamisil and the generic version, is it just as effective?

In all reality, they are exactly the same thing and both are effective to the same level. The 'generic' is just marketed under a different name by another company and contains the same ingredients. Since it does not have the same 'brand' name, it is much cheaper.
