| | acrylic nail accident
So this morning I left my keys in my apartment and had to go back to get them. As I was running back up the stairs I tripped and as I was falling I reached out to grab the hand rail to prevent myself from smacking the ground. As I reached out my left thumb must have caught the rail and violently forced both my real and the acrylic nail up. I hadn't realized what had happened until I felt a strong throbbing while driving to work. Blood filled up underneath the acrylic nail, and I believe my real nail to be split vertically but not all the way to the cuticle. I am not positive though because the acrylic nail is still attached and is extremely painful. It is too painful to even try to cut part of the acrylic nail off and was told not to soak it in acetone to get the fake nail off. The person I talked to at the salon said to wait and come back in a week. Should I wait or go ahead and see a doctor to see what can be done? What should I do?
