| Re: How Can I Repair A Damaged Nail Bed
The nail plate rides forward on the nail bed upon a series of rails and grooves much like a train rides forward on tis tracks. When the nail bed becomes damaged and the nail 'falls off' or is surgically removed, sometimes the nail bed will no longer produce the 'rails' so a new nail plate would not be attached to the nail bed. There would be nothing there to hold it on. If this happened years ago, it will not change now. If there is no nail there now, then one will never grow.
I should also mention that artificial nail products were not meant to be applied to the skin. Repeated and prolonged skin contact can result in allergic reaction. Once we are allergic, we are allergic for life.
