I know this sounds weird and all...but my toenails are looking dried out like. I know they grow because I trim them...lol...but how can I bring the color back so they dont look disgusting when I wear sandals...I was thinking like vaseline or vapor rub? Any suggestions?
A good nail oil to keep them moisturized and apply it alot, especially at night before bed. Try something like Solar oil..just a good quality nail oil. Polish dries my toenails out but I apply my nail oil in the morning and right before bed. I hardly ever wear polish because it dries the nail out and you need moisture.

It sounds more to me like she may have fungus in the nail. One of the characteristics is a dried out nail plate. Is the nail plate yellowing and separating from the nail bed? Is there apparent debris in the area of separation? If so, it is fungal and you need to start treating it. Any OTC product will work, but it can take upwards of a full year to kill all the fungal spores.

Well they don't look yellow or anything they just look very dry. I'm a mail carrier so in the winter months I have 2 pairs of socks on with my boots and then heavier winter boots also. There's nothing under the nail either...they just look very dry like.
I have that same problem as I posted earlier. I use solar oil, or..since I ran out I picked up some vitamin e oil that you can brush on (made by Sally Hansen). I brush it on my toes in the morning and kind of massage it into my toenails and do the same right before bed and I keep the polish off my toenails most of the time. My toenails look better..but I know what you mean because when I don't constantly take care of my toenails they look they belong on an 80 year old woman. lol As for the fungus part ask Marti if toenail fungus makes your nails look dried out. I would like to know as well. I value her opinions because she is an expert.
