I cut the middle part of my left ring fingernail horizontally with a knife but don't know how deep it's been cut. Once the nail starts growing back, will the nail look normal as if nothing happened???? annoyed

yes and no. nails will grow back yes. i've ripped half my big toe nail off and it grew back perfect. i've smashed my finger with a hammer to the point the blood blister made the whole nail fall off. it looks fine also but when compared to the other matching finger you can see a difference, neither toe nor finger are what you called deformed or anything of that nature. so my verdict, is you are safe, just be more careful with sharp objects

It totally depends on how deep into the nail bed you cut. If the cut compromised the nail bed and it developes scar tissue, the nail will grow attached up to the scar, but not attached at the distal portion of the cut. I slammed my pinky in the car door and it cut into the nail bed quite deep on one side and the nail is only attached before the cut, not after it. My 'smile' line is crooked now.
