question about a toenail
Ok, I've spoken with a Dr and he wanted to rip my toe nail off after spending about 3 min talking to me. The tips are yellow and have been for years so I've always worn nail polish. Over the last year however the inside of my toe wehere the toenail makes contact with the skin has become increasingly tender and swollen. It is not a fungal infection because I've already had one Dr. cut it open and treat it with antibiotics, then sent me to the other Dr who said it must be an ingrown toenail. Even though there is no proof of it and I keep my nails trimmed and I have no history of ingrown toenails in my entire life. It is effecting both of my big toes however and only my big toes. Anyone have any ideas that may be useful? It would be greatly appriciated. (oh and I agreed to let the second Dr. rip off my toe nails if only to get the pain to stop, I went in a few days later for the actual proceedure and he decided that in 2 days my ingrown toenail have magically healed itself even though my toe still hurt and sent me home)
