Posts: 2,608	Re: home remedies for finger slammed in the car door Soak it in very cold water for several days to help alleviate the pain and swelling. If a hematoma developes, you may want to make a hole in the nail plate so the blood can be released which will help with the pain. Take Advil and that's about it.
