My big toenail fell off early December and it has started to grow back, and I would say it's about 1/3 of the way there. I'm going on holiday in March and I was just wondering if there are tips on helping it to grow faster or disguising it?
A big toenail can take up to 12-18 months to grow back. Find yourself a good nail tech who specializes in sculptured acrylic nails and have them sculpt a toenail for you. This can be maintained until the natural nail grows back. Be sure to keep the nail very clean and dry as much as possible, and visit your nail tech regularly for maintenance. Good Luck!
Was the nail plate already separated from the nail bed when it was removed, or did the doctor surgically slice it from the nail bed? The procedure makes a huge difference in the end result. If some of the nail bed was removed, chances are that it will not grow in attached from that point forward. It will still grow though because it grows forward from under the proximal nail fold (cuticle area.)
i dropped something on my big toe and someone said i ruptured the nail bed. my toe nail turned black and i think its going to fall off. how long does it take for the whole nail to grow back? i want to be able to wear flip flops. and im a dancer, so how long until i can dance without it huring really bad?

it took me up to 6 months or 8 to be completed grown.
