| Strange Ingrown Toenail?
Recently my big toe started to swell between the first joint and where the toenail begins to grow. Then it started bleeding at the base of the toenail, I read around a bit and started soaking it in warm water a few times a day, when that did nothing I went to a doctor, he said I could have Cellulitis and gave me some antibiotics and told to me to continue soaking it. Are a few days of taking it, the pain went away, but it still bleeds after mainly after soaking.
After looking at it closer, it seems my toenail is growing out of the skin overtop of my "old toenail". I can't find any information on what this might be...I'm thinking an ingrown toenail, but everything I see on them is the toenail coming out of the edge of the nail. I'm also guessing that I did have the Cellulitis and the medicine cleared it up, but with my toenail basically being an open wound, I know it is probably prone to infection again.
Well anyway I was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before. I'll be heading back to a doctor this weekend but I am just curious about it in the meantime.
