| Hit toenail and it lifted off partially
I hit my toenail a week ago and it lifted off down to the cuticle. I was able to put the nail back down on the toe (wow did that hurt) and it was painful and oozed for about 5 days. I went to the doctor and he said if it didn't get better he would have to drill a hole in the nail so it could drain. He also put me on antibiotics and has me soaking it in hibicleanse and warm water twice a day. Well today it is still slightly red and painful but not oozing anymore. Shouldn't it be fine by now (no pain and redness)? I don't want to go get it drilled but I also don;t want a bigger issue with it either. How do I know if it is getting better?
