not necessarily. You could have a vitamin deficiency, but just as easy you could have banged it and separated the nail from the nail bed...keep the nail as short as possible, and clean, and wait for it to grow back. It should grow back normally..

You may have vitamin deficiency, but it might not be the reason for this.You Sholud always trim your nail as short as possible and Keep it clean, then it will grow back normally..
