Exclamation Gage went to the neurologist yesterday.....feeling a little nervous

hi all. this is part two....we went to the neuro yesterday to get the results of gage's last EEG. she is sending him to the pittsburgh childrens hospital for his epilepsy. see my last post if anyone has been there. she has no idea what type of "E" has now after looking at his second EEG report. the very first one he had his siezures were in one part of the brain and moved to other parts of the brain wich had her treating him for absence seizures. the second one showed that it was the whole brain that was being affected this time, which confused her to no end. she wants him to go to pittsburgh and see aboput having a VEEG done since most of his spells seem top happen at night when he is sleeping. i thoguht he was doing better cause the only thing i have noticed was the tempers coming back and the night dreams as i call them got more frequent. thats it. no more facial ticks or anything like that.

she also wants him to undergo some genetic testing. she looked at his face and said his chin was a little small, and his ears sat too low. this part has me worried. what on earth could they be looking for? and how do they test that type of stuff? she seems to think he has behavior issues and is under developed physically and mentally. he isnt where he should be as far as size and learning are concerned. his speech is delayed and all teh things he should have known by now he is in the process of learning now.

i am a little scared. it seems we have gone to the next step of this. never in my dreams would i have expected it to get this complicated. i guess you coul;d say i figured he would be diagnosed and take his meds and that would be the end of it. just live with that and go day to day. not only do i have to go to a strange city but i have to get strange testing and what not done as well. breaks my heart. i know some of you have been throught this stuff, what can i expect. i have read on teh VEEG. that will be an overnight trip i imagine. a little insight on this would be much appreciated. thank you all for being there for me. i have a feeling im in for a long haul. he just turned 5 on sunday and he ahs been thru alot in the past 4 months, i feel bad for the kid

Oh Sweetie (((HUGS))) (((HUGS))) (((HUGS)))

I so wish we could exchange email and/or phone numbers...

Don't have a lot of time right now. Will give more detail later. BUT~ ~ ~

Jake went last Friday for genetic testing. His was a LARGE blood draw (Daddy says they took 5 or 6 large viles). They (the neuros) did not originally order this test. We asked for it. I WANT TO KNOW NOW if it's something other then E. Just a gut feeling we aren't seeing the whole picture.

Anyway... I'm at work and just swamped, but wanted you to know you and Gage are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love and light to all our children

L and kids
