Hep please: PM doc now wants me to see a neurologist!

Aggh! I had 1 epidoral injection and it made me worse I have L4/L5 annular bulge w/ compression on both L5 nerve roots in subarticular recesses and L5/S1 Annualar bulge w/ no compression.....She is now giving me a script to see a neurologist....I am in much pain and have no closure on what to do! I thought PM docs help you all she has done was inject me causing more pain and give me oral steriods plus flexeral muscle relaxers. None of those work to take pain away my wife is 28 weeks pregnant who is limted to chores around the house while I am suffering in horrible pain at times....I just don't know waht to do this is a nightmare. I pay good money for medical insurance and this is what I get in return.....I just don't know what to do......I am turniong into a basket case here...AGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hep please: PM doc now wants me to see a neurologist!

Spoiler-
I am so sorry about all of this. I know you are stressed to the max and feeling very let down, confused and upset right now. You have every right to be.

Did your PM doctor release you from the practice when he gave you the referral to the Neurologist, or is he keeping you as a patient and seeking help/information/advice from a Neuro to help him be able to manage your pain with the appropriate treatments?

I do hope that your pm doctor is just seeking a "second opinion" so to speak so he can better understand your situation and help you.

I don't know what to say. I am just so sorry you've been made to feel this way. Please do keep us posted.

(((Hugs)))

Re: Hep please: PM doc now wants me to see a neurologist!

The way I see it is I am cut off for no reason and send me to another doctor....it's quite a let down and fustrating! Before the injection I only had mild annular bulge on the L4/L5 and L5/S1. After the injection I had leg problems in the left leg especially showing weakness and numbness so she sent me for another MRI, the MRI then showed annular bulge in L4/L5 compressing on both L5 nerve roots plus Annular bulge in L5/S1 w/ no compression. It's like after the injection something happened worse to me and she is cutting me off. I had the MRI last Friday and it took her until this afternoon to call me back after numerous phone calls and messages on this MRI report.

I had this report given back to ME Monday evening! It's very odd it took all this time! I don't understand I never did anything to her for this treatment I am getting. I never asked her for pain killers or made her feel unfortable in anyway. I am losing hope here in any doctor or treatment because I am not getting treated right as a patient in any way.

I am sorry I am just so let down in many ways the last 2 months, I am hurting and only my family seems to care not any doctors! AGH!!!!!

Re: Hep please: PM doc now wants me to see a neurologist!

Spoiler---Can I ask why it's bothering you to see a neurologist? The same thing happened to me with my injection. I am in much worst shape now than I ever was before the procedure. Mine was performed in my neck rather than the lower back and now my shoulder and both wrists are so painful I can't perform simple everyday tasks anymore--things I could do easily before the injection.

I have an appt with my pm tomorrow and I am praying that he WILL send me to a neurologist. In my opinion trying all these meds on me and now this injection has just made me worse and I am more than ready for a second opinion and another MRI.

It sounds to me like we are both in the same boat and could sure use a doc that actually care about what happens---maybe that's what you could get with a new doc?? Try not to stress, I know it's hard!! It could work out in your favor, you never know. Good luck to you!!
